The 2023 ODI
World Cup has been the most successful
event in ICC history. The World Cup has decimated the ICC's media and digital
records in the past. For the first time in any ICC tournament, live television
(radio) time has crossed the one
trillion minutes mark. This means fans
spend more than a thousand minutes watching live matches. The International
Cricket Council (ICC) provided the information on its website and Twitter on Tuesday. This
number is higher than the 2011 Cricket World Cup held in India. Compared to the
2019 World Cup held in England, there
was a 17 percent increase in the number of visitors this time. The end of India
and Australia has 87.6 billion rupees of advertising in just minutes. The live
broadcast of the final between India and
Australia on 19 November alone is worth
Rs 8,760 million. 46% higher than the 2011 World Cup final. Among these, the
biggest contribution was made by the home Indian fans. On Disney Star Network
alone, Indians watched 422 billion minutes of gaming. This is still a 54%
increase from 2011 and a 9% increase from 2019. The event also broke records on
digital platforms. It became the ICC's most watched event
with 16.9 billion digital video views. The World Cup final played between India and Australia on November
19 broke all viewing records. The previous record was the
semi-final match played between India and New Zealand in the World Cup
on November 15. Approximately 53,000 people watched this match. Meanwhile,
around 1.30 million spectators watched the
final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in
Ahmedabad.
